What To Expect

Istiqlal Mosque
This Mosque able to accomodate around 150.000 muslim people. Masjid Istiqlal is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and the third largest Sunni mosque in term of capacity.This national mosque of Indonesia was built to commemorate Indonesian independence and named "Istiqlal", an Arabic word for "independence". The mosque was opened to the public 22 February 1978. Within Jakarta, the mosque is positioned next to Merdeka Square and the Jakarta Cathedral Church. Both worships place are symbol of unity in diversity and in an harmoni religion relation.

Jakarta Cathedral
This Church is old and established by Dutch. This current cathedral was consecrated in 1901 and built in the neo-gothic style, a common architectural style to build churches at that time. The Jakarta Cathedral is located in Central Jakarta near Merdeka Square and Merdeka Palace, it stands right in the front of the Istiqlal Mosque.

It is the national monument of the Republic of Indonesia, built to commemorate the struggle for Indonesian independence.
